My work is rooted in my childhood where I was surrounded by the
textiles, wools and papers which are used in traditional domestic
crafts. My practice is now to revisit those old skills and develop
ways of exploring and testing their qualities and properties, pushing
the materials and fabrics used, to their limit.
The use of both
natural and recycled materials play a vital role in the works I
produce. Found objects act especially as an inspiration and their
inclusion in my pieces emphasise my sense of involvement with things
past, fairy tales and folklore.
