Working with young children and indeed their teachers, throughout a lifetime of planning and implementing the art curriculum, I know the importance which opportunities for creative expression can hold. With positive stimuli given at an early stage, children are more prepared to explore and investigate and so develop self confidence and self esteem, becoming adults who believe “they can”.

In my own work my fascination is with materials themselves, the marks they make and particularly how they react to time and weather. I have always found that the chance to experiment with a variety of mediums and experience the sheer delight and excitement which new discoveries, particularly when connected with simple materials in the natural environment can bring, adds enormously to an enhanced awareness of what lies round us. To work with professional artists in a stunning informal setting is I feel an added bonus.
